After a two-year break from touring, the UK’s Redlands Palomino Company are set to release their third album, Don’t Fade, in Spring 2011 on Clubhouse Records. Like their first two albums – the critically acclaimed By The Time You Hear This (2004) and Take Me Home (2007) – it features the trademark harmonies and heartfelt songwriting of husband-and-wife partnership Hannah and Alex Elton-Wall. Recorded in rural Wiltshire and the Wye Valley in a relaxed and laidback environment over the past 18 months, the album was produced by Alex Elton-Wall and features ten new songs as well as a cover of The Dillards’ country rock classic One A.M.
What the UK Press had to say:
"4 stars - Third times a charm for UK Country Rockers"
"Her voice soars like an eagle over the Rockies, and British or not, there are moments on this record that more than rival the real deal"
"The Redlands Palomino Company have made a rugged and poignant contribution to the country canon with Don't Fade...for fans of Bruce Springsteen, Gillian Welch and Steve Earle"
"The UK's greatest country rock band"
"Americana, alt-country, whatever the term is this year for UK bands playing a certain kind of country rock, top of the pile are the Redlands Palomino Company."
"Shimmering like a summer afternoon after the wine has been opened, The Redlands Palomino Company deliver gloriously melodious country rock with that minor-key, bittersweet quality that tends to make for some of the most memorable music."
"Evokes memories of Gram and Emmylou"
"They're back and they're better than ever... the Redlands aren't just Britain's best country rock band but one of the very best anywhere...they really are at the height of their powers, there won't be a better country rock record released this year (anywhere)."
"It's country rock with tonnes of Gram and the Stones, 70's Linda Ronstadt, Jayhawks, Burritos..., it's sing along, get drunk, hug your mates music...s beautiful on record as they are live"
"I've waited a long time for a new Redlands album but it was worth it. After a couple of listens I'd say this is the best of their 3 long players to date...it has everything you'd expect from a great country rock band and you can hear Gram, The Stones, Emmy Lou, maybe some Drive By Truckers and even a little of the Faces bar room swagger."
"Illustrious purveyors of beautifully crafted country rock"
"Undisputed champions of UK alt-country"
"4 stars - one tremendous song after the other, making this album an essential purchase for anyone with even a passing interest in 'country rock' or the edgier side of 'country'"
"A grower, a keeper and a winner!"
