The Redlands Palomino company release their first new music in six years in aid of nurses facing financial hardship…

'Should we go out to a nightclub, or stay at home with Teenage Fanclub?'

Teenage Fanclub is a song from a band who simply make music for the love of it and each other and are happy to wear their hearts and influences on their sleeves. As the lyrics say 'Should we go out to a nightclub, or stay at home with Teenage Fanclub?'. It is pretty clear what The Redlands Palomino Company would rather do. Teenage Fanclub is available via Clubhouse Records as a download single, exclusively via Bandcamp.

The band aren't particularly interested in their music making a single, solitary penny for huge tax-dodging multinational media companies worth billions though, so it won't be available to download via the usual suspects. The band are, however, really passionate about what the NHS and essential workers have done for us all this year. The Redlands feel that nurses in particular, who have not had a real term pay rise in over 10 years, have been betrayed by the Government. So if you think you'll enjoy listening to the Redlands Palomino Company sing a song about their collective love for Teenage Fanclub, and you can afford it, pay whatever you like and every single penny will be donated to nurses in financial hardship via Cavell Nurses Trust.

A glowing response for Gow’s latest music….

A couple of weeks ago we set loose two new tracks from the ever-prolific Pete Gow.

The double a- side, 'Cheap and Shapeless Dress' and 'Happy Hour At the Lobby Bar' has received incredible reviews and airplay on dozens of specialist radio shows and the support has been amazing, with the BBC’s Ralph McLean describing Pete as ‘one of my favourite songwriters in Britain’.

Available only as a 45rpm single, a limited pressing on heavyweight vinyl that includes complimentary downloads, the tracks will not be made available on any other digital platform, or physical format.

The Ramblin’ Roots Revue

We maintain our levels of excitement to be starting to promote shows again at the award-winning Bucks Students' Union in High Wycombe under the Ramblin' Roots Revue banner, even though for obvious reasons we have had to rearrange our November show.

We know it’s a tricky time to be organising anything but we’ve got to keep hope alive and we are fed up of sitting on our (well sanitised) hands!

These shows are limited capacity (70) and all socially distanced, with all guests sat at tables in groups of no more that 4, so a little different than we normally host, but it's great to have the door open and be thinking about live music again.

The first events in this incredible series of shows have sold-out but we’ve planned some more for you wonderful people!

Don’t miss This Is The Train: Brighton janglers, Raving Beauties, go twangy sunshine soul on new single

As summer slowly turns to autumn, Raving Beauties have created the perfect soundtrack with their gorgeous new single, This Is The Train.

An optimistic and irresistible, harmony-laden guitar pop song, it sees the Brighton-based collective shifting from jangle to twangle and adding some classic Northern Soul influences.

With some stunning and melodic twangy lead guitar by special guest, gunslinger James Walbourne (The Pretenders, The Rails), and organ, bass and glockenspiel by Ian Parton (The Go! Team), who also mixed the track, Raving Beauties have created a shimmering and soulful thing of, er, beauty that deserves to be heard playing loudly through open car windows.

This Is The Train is timeless, but also fresh and vibrant – it’s an ideal song for these strange and uncertain times, as we look towards a brighter future. It’s like meeting up with an old friend or loved one you haven’t seen for ages and heading off to the coast to escape from the humdrum routine of everyday life.

“The song’s not literally about trains, but I guess you could say it’s sort of about coming out a dark tunnel into the light,” says Raving Beauties supremo, Brian Bell, who lives in Brighton, but hails from Belfast.

“One of the main influences on the album we’re putting the finishing touches to (Over Yonder) is the early ‘70s Island Records vibe. We’d been thinking about covering a John Martyn or Nick Drake song in a more up-tempo, jangly style, but we ended up binning that idea – This Is The Train emerged from me putting a new vocal melody and lyrics to some of the folky chord progressions that Tom Collison (producer/multi-instrumentalist /main collaborator) had been playing around with.”

There’s another new recruit too – Scottish folknik and acoustic guitar maestro, Callum Johnstone, who provides the harmony vocal. “It’s a nice bit of serendipity in that the original Raving Beauties album [released in 2015] came about because of a Belfast-Edinburgh alliance with singer-songwriter Gordon Grahame. Things have come full circle, as Callum is a proud Edinburgher,” says Bell.

Completing the line-up is drummer Grant Allardyce – another Sussex-based, Belfast expat. “He’s primarily a jazz dude, so brings a swing to whatever he plays on,” enthuses Bell.

Luke Tuchscherer & The Penny Dreadfuls with David Banks & The Loose Change play The Water Rats, London – Friday 3^rd December.

Both Luke and David will be playing full sets with their rockin’ bands including songs from their critically acclaimed solo records as well as couple of rare outings from the Whybirds back catalogue.

The show is hosted by our friends at Black Cat Promotions and doors are at 7pm with music starting at 7.30pm.

Not only is David a top bloke and an incredible musician but a brilliant producer and has been working on a range of albums for other artists before he gets started on his follow-up to Until The End. As well as more established musicians, Dave offers his services to people who have always wanted to record something but didn’t know where to start. Dave can take the simplest of demos and turn them into fully produced, multi-instrument, radio-ready tracks. He can record remotely or in person.

Happy New Year Clubhousers!

Last year was a good one at the Clubhouse but 2013 is already shaping up to top it. We're off to a flying start and there's a lot to look forward to.

The year ended on a high with Case Hardin, The Dreaming Spires and Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou all making numerous end of year 'Best Of' lists with nominations and honorable mentions for their fantastic albums. One down point was the news that The Hi and Lo have decided to call it a day. Although the Leicester duo will be missed there's a very bright silver lining in the form of Paul McClure emerging with some very fine solo material, more of which later...

David Crosby Tribute Night - The Lexington, N1 3rd February

The Dreaming Spires join Sid Griffin (The Long Ryders/ The Coal Porters) to present THE SONGS OF DAVID CROSBY, a full set of songs spanning the career of the much loved ex-Byrd and CSNY member. Yes the entire set will be David Crosby songs, some faithfully reproduced, some slightly re-arranged for the night. David has actually been in touch with Sid and The Dreaming Spires, helping out with some of the trickier chords and lyrics!

The night will open with a set from The Dreaming Spires playing songs from their acclaimed debut album 'Brothers in Brooklyn'.

Our chums at Empty Room Promotions kick off 2013 at The Bullingdon in Oxford with three great bands in quick succession – and all very different. On Wednesday January 23rd they have rockabilly king J D McPherson and his band, followed by the John Murry Band on Thursday 31st. John’s album ‘The Graceless Age’ has received tremendous reviews and is on everyone’s ‘best of’ lists for 2012 and Robin from the Dreaming Spires will be opening the show!. On the following day, Friday February 1st the Dale Watson Band from Austin, Texas will be playing proper country music. Finally a few weeks later on Thursday February 21st they have Canadian singer songwriter and ‘force of nature’ Fred Eaglesmith on a rare visit to the UK. So – something for everybody!

In the last couple of weeks we’ve celebrated our 3^rd birthday (we had no idea until our good friend Paul McClure mentioned it!) and we’d like to thank you all for your ongoing support and enthusiasm, we’ve got loads more to come and we are looking forward to meeting a few more of you along the way!!

So here’s what’s been happening since last we spoke…

Leeroy Stagger and Troubadour Rose sign to Clubhouse!

We couldn’t be more excited to announce two new additions to the Clubhouse stable…

Canada’s Leeroy Stagger, who’s in the UK throughout July on a 20 date tour showcasing his roots rock and roll, has joined us to release his breathtaking 8^th studio album, “Truth Be Sold”, on 4^th June 2013. We are also delighted that English alternative, folk-pop trio Troubadour Rose have joined the Clubhouse family and we will be releasing their debut album, “ Tell Me”, this summer. Wood Festival

We can’t wait for the simply brilliant Wood Festival; not only is the line up amazing (too many hi-lights to list) but we’ve been asked to reconvene our tribute to Bruce Springsteen’s “Nebraska”, with all 10 acts from the London show appearing at Wood to run through the entire album once more. For those of you that missed it the first time it really is a fantastic event and will make for a great evening.

Here we are again…

Case Hardin follow up “Every Dirty Mirror” with “PM” this August

We are really pleased that the PM is currently on it’s way back from the pressing plant. PM is the new album by Case Hardin. Over the course of its nine tracks, songwriter Pete Gow probes at the lives of characters whose aspirations have been compromised, either by their own choices or by circumstance. He picks these individuals apart, peers inside and allows us to see how they work, or why they stopped, if not working, then caring.

This record is a fitting follow up to the critically acclaimed “Every Dirty Mirror” but it’s certainly no “Part 2”, without being a radical new direction for the band it certainly marks a major progression, representing a group of musicians right at the top of their game. We can’t wait for you to hear it and you can expect a full release on 26^th August. More news soon.

We’ve just recovered from a wonderful time at Maverick festival, where the Clubhouse bands did us proud, and we met so many new friends – what a fantastic event, highly recommended! And before we’ve even had time to put the tent in the shed we have…..

The Clubhouse Summer Party…

Tingestock, as you know, is our favorite event of the year and it’s happening this Saturday 13^th July. Tingewick Village hall is a magical place and this year, thanks to Empty Room Promotions, we are filling it with a great line up of acts including the Leeroy Stagger Band – who took the roof off the barn at maverick during their headline set! plus The Redlands Palomino Company, Case Hardin, Troubadour Rose and Paul McClure!

It’s been a busy 2013 for us, with our third anniversary, numerous festival commitments, some fine album releases and a fair few shows – thanks so much for all your support throughout the year.

Clubhouse Records Unveils Record Store Day Plans!

We are very pleased to announce that Clubhouse Records and our bands will be playing a full part in this years’ Record Store Day on 19^th April.

Firstly we will be releasing a very limited edition 7 inch vinyl E.P. featuring 4 brand new and unreleased recordings. That’s right a quadruple A-Side! The artists and tracks included are:

The Redlands Palomino Company – ‘Sunday’

Case Hardin – ‘Mara’

The Dreaming Spires – ‘If I Didn’t Know You’

Paul McClure – ‘Feels Like Coming Home’

This instant collectors’ item will be available from participating stores on the day, the bands themselves and via our own on-line shop a week after the event.

This year we’re bringing the Clubhouse stable for a day out in the country and have teamed up with our local store The Record Shop, Amersham to organise a day of live music, exclusive releases, bargains and a few surprises.

During the day we’ll have no less than 5 Clubhouse acts joining some local talent to play acoustic in-store sessions at The Record Shop including; The Redlands Palomino Company, Troubadour Rose, Paul McClure, Case Hardin and The Dreaming Spires.

If that wasn’t enough we moving up the road and into the evening with our ‘Record Store Day After-Party’ at H+H, Amersham from 7pm – 10.30pm. Expect sets from Case Hardin, The Dreaming Spires, Troubadour Rose and The Redlands Palomino Company plus the Clubhouse DJs providing the music in between.

Tickets for the ’After Party’ are just £5 for Adults and are strictly limited. They will be available from ‘We Got Tickets’ or directly from The Record Store, Amersham and Harris and Hoole, Amersham. This is a family friendly event and under 15's are free. Harris and Hoole are putting on a special menu of hot and cold snacks and sharing platters.

Make a trip out on the Met Line and spend the day, buy some records and listen to some music. We’ll make room for you all!

Cale Tyson signs to Clubhouse!

We are really pleased to announced that Cale Tyson has signed to Clubhouse Records for the UK.

Cale Tyson is a singer and songwriter from Nashville, TN. Born in a small town in Texas, he was raised in Fort Worth, the home of Townes Van Zandt and the place where he first heard the classic country sounds that have inspired and enriched his gentle, melancholy, and undeniably whiskey-soaked sound.

First up will be Cale’s debut 7-track EP, High On Lonesome, which features Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart) on electric guitar. The release has been featured on CMT.com and in American Songwriter Magazine, as well as numerous other outlets. Tyson has recently been opening shows for Dwight Yoakam on the road, in addition to wrapping up a new record which heavily features Robert Ellis on guitar and vocals. In April 2014, Tyson was featured as one of PolicyMic’s “9 Real Country Music Stars of Our Generation.”

Don Gallardo signs to Clubhouse Records.

Don blew us away at Truck festival, providing one of the musical hilights of a brilliant Clubhouse Summer! We are really pleased he'll be working with us, first releasing music from his back catalogue, and then a brand new album in 2015 when he'll be returning to the UK for more live dates.

Gallardo hails from a small town in Northern California, and spent years cultivating his career on the west coast before relocating to Nashville in 2007. Walking the line between classic rock, retro singer-songwriter, and more contemporary flavors of folk and Americana, Gallardo is a diverse and multi-faceted performer with a lyrical depth and warm and unique vocal style which helps him weave between genres and provides an immediate relatability. With three full-lengths, a live album, and an EP under his belt, as well as a fourth full-length on the way, Gallardo has already achieved critical praise, and has had his work prominently featured in films, "Jolene" & also Jackass Presents "Bad Grandpa" and the highly popular television series, "The Vampire Diaries" & ABC's "Nashville". A seasoned performer himself, Don’s backing band, How Far West, also includes an impressive and road-worn panel of players.

NEW ALBUM slated for release in 2015

Don has begun to work on a brand new album, as yet untitled, slated for release in 2015. He roughly recorded 16 songs prior to his Summer July 2014 UK Tour. Upon returning to Nashville he went into the studio again to choose and record some demos of the best of the 16 songs. He is working with Producer David Pinkston who has engineered hundreds of records and worked with a number of legends such as The Allman Brothers, Marshal Tucker Band, Kansas, Linda Ronstadt, Delbert McClinton & Gretchen Peters. Don & David have teamed up hoping to make Don’s breakthrough album. They have hired on veteran drummer, Brad Pemberton who played & recorded with Ryan Adams for 6 years from “Demolition” album and through all the Cardinals albums. Brad has also played with Patty Griffin, Willie Nelson and Brendan Benson. There will be more notable players involved in this album to be named at a later date as the project evolves.

Hello… we’re back!

It’s been a long time since we wrote to you and we’ve got so much news we are having to hold some back ‘til next time! Let’s get cracking…

First up Case Hardin have announced and exciting co-headline show at one of London’s most treasured venues, The Borderline, on Monday 27^th October. The band will be joined on the night by Jason McNiff and the Lone Malones plus special guest Wizz Jones; we can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Dreaming Spires are never far from an exciting project or two and as well as some carefully selected live dates and filming for the brilliant Crypt Sessions they are also preparing to release a new EP on 24^th November. “Darkest Before The Dawn” sees Oxford’s finest return with and incredible set of songs, which in many ways form part of a trilogy that started with “Brothers In Brooklyn” and will conclude with the release of their second full-length album due out in Feb 2015.

It’s not just our existing roster that are keeping us busy, you may have noticed we’ve signed not one, but two Nashville based artists in Cale Tyson and Don Gallardo.

Cale Tyson’s first release for us will be a superb 7-track offering of country goodness entitled “High On Lonesome” available digitally from 27^th October. Cale is gaining an awful lot of attention and has been recently featured by Rolling Stone, while UK press and radio are really starting to get behind him. Catching Don Gallardo was one of the highlights of summer when we saw him performing at Truck festival, we liked him so much he ended up closing our Tom Petty tribute with us on the saloon stage and we knew he belonged in the Clubhouse. We will shortly be making Don’s incredible back catalogue available in the UK before releasing a brand new album, recorded with some of Nashville’s finest, at the start of next year.

Both Don and Cale will be back in the UK in the New Year and we can’t wait for you to catch them live.

Spring has sprung and we’ve only relatively recently realized we’ve just turned five! How did that happen?

The great reviews for The Dreaming Spires new album keep rolling in and the band are keeping busy leading up to a summer of festival shows before a UK tour in October – in the meantime here is a great clip they filmed for The Crypt Sessions, a brilliant live version of “We Used To Have Parties”.

Again, the online shop is fully stocked, so don’t be a stranger.

You may have heard tracks from Cale Tyson’s new record, the appropriately titled “Introducing Cale Tyson”, being spun on Bob Harris Country for the past three weeks as we get ready for Cale’s first UK visit, the tour is attracting a lot of attention, with the Portsmouth and London dates already selling out.

But never fear, if you are based in our fair capital there is a second London date, the 22^nd Aril at What’s Cookin’, Leytonstone, where he plays with Simon Stanley-Ward (free entry) and we’ve just announced an in-store performance at Rough Trade West on 25^th April at 4pm.

They’ll be more plays on Bob Harris’s show as Cale’s got a full live session scheduled when he hits the UK.

Next up for us is a series of in-store performances at our local music emporium, The Record Shop, Amersham for RSD 15 on Saturday 18^th April – Paul McClure, Pete Gow from Case Hardin and a collaborative Bob Dylan project “Hard Rain” will be playing throughout the day – do join us.

It’s pleasing to be able to share that we’ve been asked back to take part in Suffolk’s Maverick Festival on 3^rd July – the Clubhouse Rollin’ Revue will be taking over the Peacock Stage for the evening with a first rate line-up of acts and, thanks to our sponsors, Michter’s, a whiskey tasting throughout the night.

It's been a big week in the Clubhouse this week with national TV appearances and new releases….

Nashville based singer-songwriter Don Gallardo releases his highly anticipated 4th album 'Hickory' on Monday 8th June. With Bob Harris already playing tracks on his BBC 2 show and the Telegraph listing Hickory as one of the 'Best Country Albums of 2015' this album could/should be the soundtrack to your summer. Don will be back in the UK in July for a full tour and festival dates - more details soon.

Rebecca and Simon Rosellys have been part of the UK roots scene for a number of years, their live shows and two duo albums garnering deserved praise from musicians, critics and audiences alike. On September 7^thThe Rosellys will be releasing a new album, The Granary Sessions, on the UK independent label Clubhouse Records (Case Hardin, Redlands Palomino Company, Cale Tyson, amongst others). The album, recorded and co-produced in their home studio – ‘The Granary’ – by Alex Elton-Wall, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of acclaimed UK alt country band Redlands Palomino Company, is their first full band release, taking the band to an exciting new level.

Since an early age Simon has been immersed in roots music, both as a fan and a musician. He toured throughout UK, Europe and the Middle East as a member of the much-loved Cajun/zydeco band, Le Bon Temps Playboys, alongside his father Allan who now, unsurprisingly, plays pedal steel and resonator in his son’s band. Simon met Rebecca, a qualified doctor and herself an exemplary songwriter, in 2005 and since then they have been writing songs and performing as The Rosellys both here in the UK and on regular tours to the US in their trusty (near-legendary) VW van where they have built up a sizeable following of their own.

The Granary, a converted barn in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside provided the ideal location to record the new album. With Elton-Wall’s laidback, uncomplicated approach to recording the album was able to take shape of its own accord, slowly, organically and without any of the usual time restraints and complications with the input of fellow band members – Allan Kelly (Pedal Steel/Resonator), Drew Bridges (drums) and Matt Kirby (bass).

All of the songs on The Granary Sessions, like many of the great country records of years gone by, are drawn from personal experiences of love, loss, old true tales and endless hours on the road. For example the spirited opener, “A Thousand Miles”, was written after one such endless journey from Nashville to Texas whilst “Ashville 1784” recounts a true story of a soldier killed in North Carolina leaving his wife forced to run away with their baby. The exquisite voice of Hannah Elton-Wall from Redlands permeates many of the tracks here as a guest backing vocalist whilst Rebecca’s mother and father, Helena and Michael Rosewell, add piano and cello to further enhance the wonderful sonic hue. The alluring beauty and song-craft of “Maryland” a song paying tribute the lost genius of Eva Cassidy and beautifully delivered in Rebecca’s haunting vocal style and the deeply personal “Made A Choice” are two standouts on an album full to the brim with songs that once heard will be resonating around your head for a long time to come.

It’s clear from the opening bars of The Granary Sessions that here we have a band not only totally comfortable in their own musical skin but, as a group of musicians all drawing from the same well of inspiration – an absolute love of country roots music – a band that really can reach for the stars. The musicianship throughout is both complimentary and intuitive to the songs, themselves wonderfully crafted tales straight from the heart.

Make no mistake The Rosellys are set to become a major force on the UK roots scene and further afield and with the release of The Granary Sessions their already excellent reputation is set to be enhanced even further.

The Rosellys will be playing a number of UK festivals this year including Maverick, Truck, Tingestock and Secret Garden Party and a full UK/USA Album launch Tour in Sept/Oct.

Hello,

What a great summer – we had a brilliant few weeks meeting everyone at the various festivals, not least playing with the Clubhouse All-Stars at Maverick and Truck.

Tours by both Don Gallardo and Cale Tyson were a great success, we signed The Rosellys, The Dreaming Spires were on national TV and Paul McClure and Case Hardin completed brand new albums!!

But here’s what’s going on right now…

“The Granary Sessions” by The Rosellys is OUT NOW and the band have been playing a string of live dates and winning new fans wherever they go. There are loads more gigs in the UK and the USA still to come in the next couple of months – check out their website for more details: The Rosellys

The album, co-produced by Alex Elton-Wall from The Redlands Palomino Company, is receiving lots of support from the radio and wracking up some incredible reviews. You may have also noticed that we are heading towards awards season here in the UK – The Americana Music Association UK are holding their inaugural ceremony on 3^rd February and we expect a host of Clubhouse acts to be nominated! A big year for Cale Tyson in 2016….

A new album for Cale Tyson with Clubhouse Records, February awards show appearance and full tour news…

We are really pleased to announce that Cale Tyson’s new album, ‘Careless Soul’ will be released in the UK on Clubhouse Records on Friday 8^th April 2016.

‘Careless Soul’ is the follow up to Tyson’s 2015 debut ‘Introducing Cale Tyson’ and was recorded in Muscle Shoals, AL at the legendary Fame Studios. It's a country soul record, recorded in the heart of soul music history. The album contains 11 tracks that include classic themes from love-found to love-lost to who-am-I-and-what-am-I-doing-here. The record was produced by Michael Rinne, who currently plays bass with Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. Jeremy Fetzer (Steelism, Andrew Combs) played lead guitar, Pete Lindberg played rhythm guitar, Brett Resnick played pedal steel, Skylar Wilson (Caitlin Rose) played keys, David Hood (from Fame house band The Swampers) played bass, Jon Radford (Steelism, Lilly Hiatt) played drums, and Jordan Lehning composed all the strings and horns arrangements.

We are also delighted to announce that Cale will be joining the house band led by Ethan Johns at the inaugural Americana Music Association UK Awards and performing at the beautiful St John’s in Hackney on 3^rd February. ‘Introducing Cale Tyson’ has been nominated in the ‘Best International Album’ category.

Cale Tyson and the band will then be hitting the road for a full tour of the UK, Eire and Holland to promote the album from the end April.

Excited for a return visit, building on the success of his first trip in 2015 Cale says; “For the tour, the band will be Smokin’ Brett Resnick on pedal steel, Pete Lindberg on drums, and Andrew Hunt on bass. You can expect a much fuller, dynamic sound, as well as more three-piece vocal harmonies. It's also guaranteed to be a bit more rowdy than our last acoustic tour!”

Erin Rae signs to Clubhouse Records

We are beyond thrilled to announce that brilliant Nashville based Erin Rae has signed to Clubhouse Records for the release of her debut album "Soon Enough" on 3rd June 2016

Erin and her band, The Meanwhiles, recorded the album during an inspired two days in west Nashville. The group played live, tracking their parts together to capture the spirit of their concerts. There was no studio wizardry, no click track, no digital enhancement. Instead, the album — which Erin co-produced with Michael Rinne, Rodney Crowell's touring bassist — serves as a gorgeous, no-frills Polaroid of Erin Rae and the Meanwhiles' sound, a sound they've been sharpening ever since the release of the Crazy Talk EP in 2010

We’ve had a busy few weeks since the holidays and we’ve got loads to share with you!

First off Paul McClure has just released the follow up to the much loved “Smiling From The Floor Up” – new album, “Songs For Anyone”, has already gained great support from radio up and down the country and brilliant reviews are pouring in.

Erin Rae is a brilliant Nashville based singer songwriter and we will be putting out her debut album, “Soon Enough”, later in the year. Read all about it here.

Cale Tyson and his band return to the UK for a string of shows this autumn, which includes their first venture north of the border.

Cale takes his brand of “Careless Soul” up to the northern tip of the British Isle but will kick the tour off with his biggest London show to date at the iconic Borderline on Sunday 6th November. Clubhouse Records label mates The Redlands Palomino Company provide support and we will also be joined some very special guests.

Cale Tyson set for UK return

Cale and the band are back in the UK this November following the brilliant reception of recently released album “Careless Soul”. The short tour takes them all the way up to Stornaway as they complete their first Scottish dates and on the way they take in Winchester and Leeds but their first stop is at London’s iconic Borderline on Sunday 6^th November.

Cale will be joined by our pals, one of the UK’s best-loved country-rock bands, The Redlands Palomino Company, alongside some very special guests. Bonanza and Sons provide the tunes and it’s going to unmissable. Tickets at just £12 are here

Case Hardin on the road again

Another band working their way up to Scotland are Case Hardin. Armed with fresh copies of the incredible “Colours Simple” the guys set off next week with their new live show that at times sounds huge with the addition of new keys and Pete taking to the telecaster before stripping down to a bluegrass format for the more intimate moments – if you get a chance to catch them they are in the form of their lives. Don Gallardo's "Hickory" gets worldwide release

A year after Clubhouse released Don's "Hickory" in Europe we are now really pleased to be able to tell you that it has now received a full, worldwide release. To celebrate Don has released "Diamonds and Gold" as a single with a brand new video that has been featured on Rolling Stone's website

For the song's video, Gallardo and his band set up shop at legendary Music City club Exit/In, where artists from Neil Young to the Ramones have performed since the venue's inception in 1971. (It also plays a key role in Robert Altman's 1975 opus Nashville.)

Good to luck Don, we hope to see him this side of the pond very soon.

First up we are delighted to announce that Oxford’s Loud Mountains have entered the Clubhouse stable to release their debut EP, “Love One Another”, on Friday 11^th November.

Led by harmonious brothers from Connecticut, Sean and Kevin, the band have forged a strong following based on their often raucous live shows and you’ll be hearing a lot more from them in the next few months. As reported by Rolling Stone Country, Cale Tyson is heading back out on the road in the US with a 12 date spring tour. We’re also pleased to announce that we’ll be teaming up with Nashville based label Knife Tapes to bring you Cale’s first two EP’s compiled on extremely limited edition 150 gram black vinyl with hand-numbered, screen printed jackets.

The Ramblin’ Roots Revue 2017

A celebration of roots, americana, folk and alt-country music alongside fine beer, whisky and food held at Bucks Students' Union's award winning venue in High Wycombe, across the weekend of 7th/8th/9th of April 2017.

We’ve teamed up with Ramblin’ Roots and our local micro-brewery, the Rebellion Beer Company, to launch an brand new event featuring 21 acts from the USA, UK and Spain, playing on two stages, kicking off on the Friday evening and running throughout the day andlate into the night on Saturday before rounding off with the "Ramblin' Roots Sunday Brunch".

Artists performing this year read like a "who's who" in contemporary Americana, including:

Our favourite breweries and distillers will be providing a range of incredible beers, ales and craft lagers, a selection of exemplary ciders and a menu of the finest whiskies and bourbons in the best stocked bar for miles around while Fiesta Street Foods Market bring a range of artisan concessions that will keep you going throughout the weekend with freshly prepared food from Tex-Mex delights to great Smokehouse BBQ.

Over the weekend we'll also be hosting a buskers’ stage with special guests, americana label record stalls, clothing and merch, the great pie eating challenge and Saturday's late night "after-show" party with guest DJs. Our Sunday brunch includes free coffee refills, freshly prepared and locally sourced eggs, bacon and sausages served in warm brioche buns, free Sunday newspapers and revitalizing, uplifting live music enjoyed in like-minded company before we part company until next year…

The event caters for up to 600 per day with warm indoor stages and a fully accessible venue. Our customer's comfort is our primary concern and you'll never be more than 20 meters from a stage, a bar or something to eat!

Welcome Luke Tuchscherer to the Clubhouse...

Luke Tuchscherer has been making noise on the UK Americana scene for some time, firstly as the singing drummer with the highly regarded Whybirds and more recently stepping out from behind the kit to promote his critically acclaimed solo album in 2014, the delicately titled “You Get So Alone At Times It Just Makes Sense”.

Having been a part of the extended Clubhouse family over the past couple of years it’s great to formally welcome Luke in to the stable for the much anticipated follow up record, “Always Be True”, which will be available this summer on high quality vinyl, CD and in all the usual digital formats.

Growing up in Jackson, Tennessee, Erin Rae got an early introduction to folk music at home. Her mom and dad were both part-time musicians, playing their own brand of American roots music at churches, county fairs and coffee shops in west Tennessee. Starting as early as five years old, she would join them for a song or two.

Two decades later, she's still spending her time onstage — this time as the main act. As the leader of Erin Rae and the Meanwhiles, she walks the line between old-school folk and modern Americana, creating a sound that nods to her influences while pushing ahead toward something new. It's music that breathes, filled with pedal steel, vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar, bright bursts of melody and plenty of space. It's also music that's taken her halfway across the world, with Erin playing shows everywhere from Nashville (her adopted hometown) to Switzerland.

Erin and company recorded their full-length debut, Soon Enough, during an inspired two days in west Nashville. The group played live, tracking their parts together to capture the spirit of their concerts. There was no studio wizardry, no click track, no digital enhancement. Instead, the album — which Erin co-produced with Michael Rinne, Rodney Crowell's touring bassist — serves as a gorgeous, no-frills Polaroid of Erin Rae and Meanwhiles' sound, a sound they've been sharpening ever since the release of the Crazy Talk EP in 2010

During the five years that separate CrazyTalk from Soon Enough, a lot of life was lived. Erin's songs tackle all of it: the changes, challenges and celebrations that come with a life dedicated to art. There are songs that deal with mental illness. Songs that deal with the importance of staying present. Songs inspired by childhood, adulthood and all the lovers and co-conspirators you meet in between.

The present wouldn't be possible without the past. Released in September 2016, Soon Enough bridges the gap between the two, taking its inspiration from both places. This is new music for old souls.

Good Afternoon…

We’ve been in mild hibernation for a few months but as Spring approaches we are about to (gently) roar back in to action with loads of new projects in the pipeline. Here’s what’s coming up immediately…

Prolific Tuchscherer returns with third solo record…

Luke Tuchscherer, who last year released the top 20 album “Always Be True” on Clubhouse Records to critical acclaim, and has since relocated to the USA, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for his third record. The new record, “Pieces”, marks a sparkling return to Luke's alt-country roots and you can hear a track, as well as get the full details on exclusive items, here.

Luke will be returning to British shores from New York for the Ramblin' Roots Revue in April, then will be back again for a wider UK tour in the summer. Full dates are here.

In the meantime, the “Shadows” E.P. featuring four tracks culled from the “Always Be True” album sessions will be released digitally worldwide on 16 February. Check it out on your favourite download platforms now.

Don Gallardo is “STILL HERE”

Gallardo’s forthcoming album, "Still Here", was self-produced with the help of David Pinkston and Dylan Alldredge, and it’s different from any of his previous efforts. “My prior albums had almost no co-writes on them; I usually just wrote my own material,” says Gallardo. “This time, I sought out songwriters that I really respected for co-writes—Tim Easton, Carey Ott, Mando Saenz, Luke Amelang, Robby Hecht, Doug Williams, David Borné and Jesse Cole.” The resulting collection includes songs about Gallardo’s son, past relationships, the music industry, the late 16th Century, bullying, and some songs with UK references. All have a common theme running through them: no matter how gruelling life can be, giving up is not an option, and persistence and positivity can prevail over anything.

Joining Gallardo in the studio in Hendersonville and East Nashville, where he laid down the tracks, was a veritable who’s who of Nashville talent, including; Dave Roe on bass (Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson), Micah Hulscher on keys (Margo Price), Bryan Owings on drums (Justin Townes Earle, Patty Griffin), Brent James on guitar (George Jones, Willie Nelson), Richard Bailey on banjo (Steeldrivers), Joe Andrews on mandolin (Old Crow Medicine Show), and Erin Rae singing on two songs. Additionally, all the guys in Gallardo’s live band, as well as other special guests, played on the album.

To celebrate, Don is visiting the UK this March for a short tour, which includes some of our favourite venues!

After a well-earned break, our slumber is nearly over and we can’t wait to let you all know about next year’s run of new releases, some exciting special projects and a new signing or two! More news on what’s been going on behind the scenes soon…

Our favourite Californian resident of Nashville and good friend, Don Gallardo, is out on tour again. Throughout November and December Don and his band, including Case Hardin’s guitar slinger Jim Maving, will be visiting Scotland, Germany and Spain alongside a few dates in England – full tour schedule here

Paul McClure is well under way with the new album, and it might just be his strongest collection of songs yet, but he needs your help! Happy New Year! We’ve taken down the decorations in the Clubhouse and are getting ready for what’s shaping up to be a fantastic 2019.

Our first offering this year will be the debut solo album from Case Hardin frontman Pete Gow. The album is entitled ‘Here There’s No Sirens’ and will be released on Friday 5^th April. Produced by The Dreaming Spires’ Joe Bennett, it is truly a sensational piece of work and further enhances Pete’s reputation as one of the UK’s finest songwriters. We can’t wait for you to hear it. More news and details of a very special launch show to follow. Meanwhile, the songs for Case Hardin’s next album are written and the band will be back in the studio before the year is out.

Our sister festival The Rambling Roots Revue is back for its’ 3^rd outing this year with an incredible line-up of International artists being announced even as we type. Already on the bill are The Rockingbirds, The Rosellys, Austin Lucas, Dan Stuart, Malin Petterson and Yola with more names, including a host of Clubhouse acts, being added all the time.

Tickets for the 3 days festival in High Wycombe, Bucks are still just £40 for the weekend and available here. Don’t delay, the word is out….

'Strip For Me' is taken from the upcoming 'Here There's No Sirens' Out In April On Clubhouse Records

'Strip For Me' is the first single from Pete Gow's upcoming solo album, 'Here There's No Sirens' released on April 5th. The single is released digitally on Friday, March 22nd.

The album will be launched Saturday, April 6th in London at the Network Theatre in London's Waterloo featuring full band of “Clubhouse All Stars” plus the 5-piece Siren Strings, the wonderful Tony Poole and supremely taleneted Lucy Kitt support. Tickets are available HERE

Clubhouse Records are set to release Here There's No Sirens the debut solo album from Case Hardin frontman Pete Gow on April 5th. Long regarded as one of the UK's finest songwriters, Gow delivers an album rich in song-writing prowess and full of evocative imagery. A storyteller at heart, Pete conjures up a modern-day classic that entwines itself around your heart whilst penetrating the soul, underlining his reputation whilst stretching the band confines into new pastures. Pete Gow Releases Full Concert Film

Last month Pete Gow launched his solo album ‘Here There’s No Sirens’with a special one- off concert at the Network Theatre in London. Pete was backed by his band and a full string section to perform the album in its’ entirety for the very first time. The evening was recorded for posterity and is now released as ‘One Last One-Night Stand’.

Paul McClure's 'Market Town' Released 12th July

Last weekend Paul launched his new full-length album Market Town with two triumphant performances at Glastonbury Festival. Those of you that pre-ordered the album will be enjoying their limited edition signed CDs as we type but the rest will have to wait until the album is available nationwide from Friday 12th July.

A new record from the prolific Luke Tuchscherer…

Exciting news! Today Luke launches a pre-order campaign for his incredible new album, Carousel!

The album was recorded at Storybook Sound in Maplewood, NJ earlier this year. It's a solo acoustic, live-in-the-studio record, which is something he’s wanted to make ever since hearing The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.

Given the situation with Pledge Music, he’s handling the pre-orders through Bandcamp. Anyone who orders through there will get the full 12-track album on release date (4th October), plus the bonus track Fighting to Survive. They'll also get the song My Darling England as soon as they place their order.

This will be Luke’s fifth release and fourth full-length studio album since releasing his debut, You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense, in October 2014.

LUKE TUCHSCHERER TO RELEASE SOLO ACOUSTIC RECORD THROUGH CLUBHOUSE

The record, calledCarousel,is Tuchscherer’s fourth album in five years, order your copy directly from us.

Luke Tuchscherer, the Bedfordian singer/songwriter now based in New York City, is to release Carousel– his fourth album in five years – through Clubhouse Records on 4^thOctober 2019.

Carousel is a solo acoustic album, recorded live in the studio at Storybook Sound, Maplewood, New Jersey by Scott Anthony. It was mixed and mastered by Chris Corney.

Danny Tipping, co-founder of Clubhouse Records, says: “Following the success of Luke’s previous full band albums, it’s a bold move to release an album as sparse as Carouselbut it’s a gamble that’s paid off. In truth, I don’t think Luke could resist marking his time on the East Coast by heading to New Jersey to record a lo-fi solo set just like another celebrated singer-songwriter. Maybe this will be Luke’s Nebraska!’’

Tuchscherer says: “After a rock record like Pieceslast year, releasing the most stripped back album I’ll ever make seemed the obvious thing to do! Seriously though, ever since hearing The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, I’ve wanted to make a solo acoustic record. This seemed like the time to do it, and it had to be live in order to capture that authentic feel.”

As well as Dylan and Springsteen, Tuchscherer says Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt and Elliot Smith informed the album.

Tuchscherer continues: “First and foremost it was about finding songs that could stand up on their own. It would get a bit repetitive if I was just strumming open chords, so I wanted to pick songs that had a bit of interest in the guitar playing by employing different tunings and strange chord voicings. And on top of that, I wanted it to fit a theme lyrically too.

“That approach meant that a lot of the songs I chose were actually pretty old. ‘You Still Have My Heart’ was written two weeks before recording and ‘The Night Tom Petty Died’ was written just after I’d moved to New York, before my wife had joined me (don’t worry, I’ve grown to love the place since then). But the majority were written in the mid-2000s.

“The oldest song is ‘My Darling England’, which was written when I was 21. We actually recorded a full band version of it for The Whybirds’ Cold Blue Sky but didn’t release it. However, with all the Brexit chaos, the song has actually become more relevant as time has gone by, so it seems like holding it back was for the best.”

Tuchscherer’s previous Clubhouse effort, Pieces, was released on 6^thJuly 2018 to universal praise, while Always Be True, released on 2 June 2017, reached #15 in the UK Country Chart and #25 in the Americana Chart. His self-released debut, 2014’s You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense, was also met with widespread acclaim.

A Clubhouse Christmas…

The festive season is approaching rapidly, and we’ve finally made our plans to see out the year! Join us on Saturday 21^st December at The Betsey Trotwood, Farringdon, London.

We’re kicking off at 7pm and have sets from The Pete Gow Band, Dave Banks and Paul McClure and The Local Heroes plus some of our dearest musical friends joining us throughout the night – it’s free entry and there will be a chance to contribute to a local charity tackling homelessness.

UK Americana Album of the Year?

You might have seen that Pete Gow’s ‘Here There’s No Sirens’ has been nominated for UK Americana album of the year in the AMA UK awards. The Ramblin’ Roots Revue 2020

We are lucky enough to have the inside track on the bookings for The Ramblin’ Roots Revue and we’re getting excited for next year’s event already! The three day indoor celebration of roots and Americana music is happening across the weekend of 24^th/25^th/26^th April 2020 and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever, not least because the lovely people at Bucks SU are currently installing and incredible new state of the art sound system designed and supplied by the people who have re-fitted the Royal Albert Hall, we can’t wait to hear it!

10^th Anniversary

It seems unbelievable but next year it will be 10 years since our first release!! The compilation of UK Americana music entitled ‘Divided By A Common Language’ came out in 2009 and with over 50 projects under our belts since then we’ve never looked back… well not often anyway! We have a big year planned to celebrate with new signings and some special events so watch this space, and most of all thank you so much for all your support over the years, it is truly appreciated.

Clubhouse Records celebrates 10 years with Springsteen Tribute at the Ramblin' Roots Revue

In 2020 Clubhouse Records celebrates our 10^th birthday, and after starting the label by accident for what we thought would be a ‘one-off’ release it’s a little surprising to us all that we are still here a decade later and making some exciting plans for the future…

We’ll be marking the special anniversary in a number of ways throughout the year, but we are particularly looking forward to this year’s Ramblin’ Roots Revue where we will be surrounded by so many artists and friends who have supported the label over the last 10 years.

The Ramblin Roots Revue are honouring the label by re-christening the stage formerly known as The Whiskey Saloon as The Clubhouse and, as always, the festival will host a number of Clubhouse acts over its 3 days.

Some of you will know that every so often we bring together the ‘Clubhouse All-Stars’ so we can pay tribute to our favourite artists and inspirations and this year it seems only fitting that we acknowledge another Americana icon celebrating a special birthday.

Like many people, when we were growing up our music tastes were profoundly influenced by our Dad. There was always music on around the house and in the car and he encouraged us to play guitar and start our own bands. Our dad, Gary, is still supporting our musical endeavours and is heavily involved with all things Clubhouse.

Summer holidays were most commonly long drives to campsites and the sound track for those two weeks away would be whatever tape Dad had most recently bought; The Eagles, Billy Joel, Warren Zevon. In the summer of ’84 it was ‘Born in the USA’ by Bruce Springsteen.

We listened to it for what seemed like the entire summer and every song is imprinted in our memories. As The Boss recently turned 70, and this particular album is now 35 years old (!), we are excited to bring together some incredible muscians to play ‘Born In The USA’ in full for the late night crowd at RRR2020 as part of our own birthday celebrations. Following their sell out show at London’s Wilton’s Music Hall. Jambalaya Events presents Heartworn Highways: Live at the Ramblin' Roots Revue.

Settle in for two fantastic sets of live music as our artists perform a mixture of original material and re-imaginations of songs by Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell and many others featured in James Szalapski’s docu-film Heartworn Highways.

THE FILM:

Heartworn Highways offers an insight into an organic scene of outcast musicians working in Nashville and Austin in the mid 1970s. Many of these so-called ‘outlaw country’ musicians were fairly unknown when this film was made yet went on to become recognised as the great songwriters of their generation; Guy Clarke, Townes Van Zandt, Larry Jon Wilson, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, Steve Young and Gamble Rodgers to name a few. Heartworn Highways is known for being as influential on the ‘Americana’ genre as Martin Scorsese’s The Last Waltz (The Guardian) .

THE ARTISTS:

After many late night jams at well known roots music haunts, The Betsey Trotwood in Farringdon and Camden’s Green Note, this fabulous lineup were drawn together through a mutual love and respect for the music made by the artists featured in Heartworn Highways. This event is a rare opportunity for the musicians to perform songs written by their heroes alongside their own original material, and share stories of how Heartworn Highways has influenced their own songwriting.

Following his 2019 sell out shows, first at Network Theatre and recently St. Pancras Old Church, Pete Gow returns to our fair capital city with The Siren Strings for his biggest headline show to date at Bush Hall on Thursday 18th June, with a special guest appearance by Norway’s Malin Pettersen.

Gow’s incredible band, accompanied by a 5-piece string secon, have earned rave reviews showcasing work from not one, but two albums, released through Clubhouse Records over 12 months.

In ‘Here There’s No Sirens’ and ‘The Fragile Line', Gow, formerly front man with alt- country rockers Case Hardin, produced two genre- defying pieces of work, marking the start of his solo career. They have been described as ‘masterful’, ‘intense’ and ‘unflinching’ with the accompanying live shows classified as ‘stunning’, ‘jaw dropping’ and ‘deeply moving’.

Possessing one of Norway's greatest country voices as the lead singer of Lucky Lips, Malin Pettersen's career has been a whirlwind since the release of her debut solo album, References Pt.1 in the spring of 2018. Critically lauded in Norway and recent winner of a Spellemann award (Norwegian Grammy), as well as nominated for an Ameripolitan award, the record launched Pettersen's immensely promising solo career with widespread touring as a result.

Profoundly inspired by a trip to Nashville, which included a slot at The Station Inn with Lucky Lips for Americanafest, Pettersen returned to Norway wanting to do something wholly different from the band sound of her debut, she recorded a mini album, alone in the studio. 'Alonesome' showcases Pettersen's compelling – and at the same me fragile – voice and unique musicianship. We can't wait to welcome Malin to London and this very special show.

Originally opened in 1904, Bush Hall is sole survivor of a trio of London dancehalls built by a local Publisher, one for each of his daughters, It has enjoyed past lives as a WWII soup kitchen, a bingo hall, a rehearsal space for the likes of The Who, Adam Faith and Cliff Richard in the late '50s/60s and finally, a snooker club in the '80s/90s, before being restored to its former musical glory in 2001 by present owners Charlie Raworth & Emma Hutchinson.

Today, Bush Hall hosts everything from music, comedy, cabaret shows and film shoots. The space boasts ornate high ceilings, beautiful acoustics through which its rich history resonates.... the perfect location to experience Pete Gow and The Siren Strings.

Paul McClure and the Local Heroes with David Banks

First up the Rutland Troubadour, Paul McClure, brings his band of local heroes to a beautiful church in Dinton, near Aylesbury, Bucks on Saturday 7^th March.

It’s a beautiful setting for live music and Paul will be joined by David Banks (ex-Whybirds), opening the show with songs from his brilliant debut solo record, ‘Until The End’, which is on heavy rotation here at the Clubhouse.

The Redlands Palomino Company in rare live outing…

On Sunday 8^th March The Redlands Palomino Company play their first show in many moons at what must be their spiritual home, Come Down and Meet The Folks, now held at The Betsey Trotwood in Farringdon. Luke Tuchscherer makes a flying visit to the UK…

Now resident of New York, Luke Tuchscherer is flying over in April for the Revue and he’s engaged The Penny Dreadfuls for a handful of rockin’ live shows either side. Fans of Luke’s pervious band The Whybirds might want to take a look at the Bedford date. BOOK NOW

Just announced is Pete Gow’s largest solo show to date as he headlines London’s Bush Hall on Thursday 18^th June. Pete will be playing an extended show with his band and the full string section for what promises to be something a bit special.

Joining us is very special guest Malin Pettersen. Hailing from Norway, Malin’s solo career is really taking off and any of you who saw her playing at The Ramblin’ Roots Revue or at her packed-out AMA UKshowcase earlier this month will know you’re in for a sensational evening of music. Clubhouse is 10! Spotify Playlist

Hatched over a bottle of red wine at a late-night jam over a decade ago, Clubhouse Records was a seed of an idea for a collective, supportive, musical project that's grown and endured far longer than we could have imagined. It's been tremendous fun and we've made lifelong friends along the way!

We had been working on a whole raft of ideas for 10th Birthday celebrations including a big get together at our Ramblin' Roots Revue, which has been sadly but unavoidably postponed. In the meantime, while hatching alternative plans with my brother Danny, our father Gary and long-term collaborator Del Day, we got to talking about all the fantastic music we'd released over the years and trying to pick our personal favourite tunes.

Well that proved nearly impossible, so we eventually decided on ten each and put this playlist together, introducing people to Clubhouse and hopefully providing a little something to take your minds of troubled times for an hour or so - we hope you like it!

We’re hosting a ‘Watch Party’

To celebrate the 1st Anniversary and live debut of Pete Gow's 'Here There's No Sirens' we're hosting a 'watch party' round at yours.

One year ago this week Pete Gow & The Siren Strings assembled at the Network Theatre in Kings Cross to perform Pete's debut solo album for the very first time. This stunning performance was captured in full by our cameras and presented as the concert film 'One Live One-Night Stand'.

On Friday 10th April we're inviting you press play on the You Tube video via your phone, laptop or Smart TV and join us in watching the concert together.

During the performance Pete (@petegow) will talk us through the songs, performance and recording process whilst answering your questions via Twitter.

After years travelling the country playing house concerts for friends and fans, singer/songwriter Paul McClurereturns the favour by inviting us into his own home for an intimate evening of music at 8pm on Tuesday 21^st April.

Paul will be playing a selection of songs from his critically acclaimed solo albums as well as some rarities and new material penned during lockdown.

The concert will be streaming on Facebook Live via Paul's page and there’s an online tip jar if you’d like to make a contribution.

At 11am on Sunday 19^th April we are premiering a very special version of John Prine’s ‘Storm Windows’ on our Clubhouse YouTube channel.

Here’s what Pete has to say about it…

‘I recorded my part for this song the day that John Prine passed. Joe and I were toying with doing something remotely since we all started our ‘new normal’ under COVID- 19 restrictions but hadn’t really settled on what would work best.

Sadly the decision was made for us on April 7th.

‘Storm Windows’ has always been one of my favourite Prine compositions, so an easy choice to make. The album came out in 1980 and the production on albums made then means it rarely makes it on too many ‘prime Prine’ album lists, but it is a beautifully crafted song and to me perfectly encapsulates why so many people felt Prine’s death so acutely.’

New music from Kevin Michael Duggan…

We were all sorry to see Kevin leave Oxford and alt-country band Loud Mountains last year, but we knew moving to Nashville was where his heart was at and that great music would be sent back to us. We weren’t disappointed!

‘The way the EP was recorded was really unintentional actually. My good buddy Chris Weisbecker invited me over for a bonfire one night and he'd just moved all of his recording gear into his room so we were just testing the waters with sound when we started laying down "Other Side" and then all our friends started popping in and out of the room over the course of the night to lay down other parts.

When I got to Nashville last summer, I knew about the sense of community here, but probably the coolest bit was watching that actually happen in real time. Adam Duran who also plays with Kelsey Waldon laid down guitar parts, and never batted an eyelid or asked for any money, and the same was with Dan Haymore (pedal steel) and Mallory Eagle (backing vocals).

I still pinch myself most days here wondering how all within a year I was able to find a scene of kids who are not only humble but probably the most talented I've ever seen/heard.’

LUKE TUCHSCHERER RELEASES ‘LIVING THROUGH HISTORY’

New song and video released on Monday 11^th May, with all proceeds going to charity

Luke Tuchscherer, the Bedfordian Clubhouse Records artist based in New York City, has collaborated with his friends to release a demo of a new song called Living Through History.

With Luke, ex-Whybird bandmate David Banks and Clubhouse’s Tristan and Danny Tipping all recording from their homes during lockdown, the song tackles not only the current coronavirus situation but issues including climate change, wealth disparity and animal exploitation. Banks, who also mixed and mastered the track in his own studio, delivers a blistering guitar solo that recalls some of Neil Young’s ragged glory, very much in keeping with the song itself.

A video, edited by Phil Perry, further illustrates the wider themes of the song. Watch it here.

Tuchscherer said: “It’s a song about owning our current problems. It’s not only about the coronavirus situation, but that was obviously the main inspiration. Some people may not want to admit it, but the way we treat animals is not only responsible for this pandemic, but for others too — including swine flu, bird flu, SARS, Spanish Flu and many others. In fact, 75% of new diseases are zoonotic.

“I see all these things on the internet about how this crisis might help us change. Well, let’s not just talk about it, let’s do it. We have to start with what we put on our plates. We need to think about our votes, and whether that vote might be helping or hindering our frontline workers. We need to think about our fellow humans, and all the other creatures we share this planet with, and put them ahead of money.

“We are living through history, and we’re all feeling the weight of the page at the moment. Let’s be on the right side of that history and do what we can to stop this happening again.”

Danny Tipping of Clubhouse Records said: ‘’Luke’s a prolific songwriter with something to say and like a lot of artists he’s finding new ways to collaborate and get his songs out there. This one is full of righteous indignation but it’s also a rallying cry that needs to be heard.”

The song will be available on Luke’s Bandcamp from 11^th May on a pay-what-you-want basis, and all proceeds will be split equally between Shelter, Surge Activism and Farms to Food Banks.

Luke Tuchscherer has written and recorded a new song in lockdown. 'Living Through History' touches on many issues occupying our thoughts right now including; the Coronavirus crisis, the environment, animal exploitation and wealth disparity.

The song is available now on Luke’s Bandcamp on a pay-what-you-want basis. All proceeds will be distributed equally between causes Luke feels passionately about; Shelter, Surge Activism and Farm to Food Bank.

Pete Gow shared a ‘live-to-tape’ session over the weekend including songs from the Case Hardin back-catalogue, his solo records and a brand-new track, aired for the first time.

Paul McClure is hosting his second concert from home on Tuesday 19^th May at 8pm. It will include some of his favourite cover songs and back by popular demand, a special performance by the McClure family singers.

The Rosellys return…

Last weekend should have been the 4^th instalment of the much loved Ramblin’ Roots Revue. As we couldn’t host it this year many of the acts involved sent us lovely messages and specially recorded songs to mark the occasion.

One of the songs that got the most attention was the cajun influenced ‘Lafayette, Louisiana’ which got over 8,000 views across the weekend. That song is now on Youtube so you can see it again, and if you get a chance go to the RRR facebook page to enjoy exclusive performances by some of our favourite bands, it really was an incredible show of support from our musical community and we very much appreciate it.

The Ramblin’ Roots Revue has been fully rescheduled for 9^th/10^th/11^th April 2021 and we can’t wait! Tickets are held at 2020 prices and are available now.

As if we’d let something like a worldwide lockdown get in the way of us creating new music…

The Local Heroes have existed as something of a movable feast of session musicians and members of other bands – many from the Clubhouse Records family – for the past four or five years. Tristan and Danny Tipping (bass and electric guitar) have played more Local Heroes gigs than most but this is their first appearance on an official McClure recording. And about time too…

Joel and Rhiannon Payne (keys and vocals) both played on last year’s Market Town (Clubhouse Records 2019) and Mike Monaghan (Drums) makes his return since the Orange EP of 2017 which included the huge hit ‘Baby That’s You’ which was accompanied by a video starring actor James Sutton.

Joel has once again taken on producer duties following on from the fantastic job he did on ‘Market Town’.

Paul has spent lockdown home-schooling his two children – whom many of you will know from the songs written about them and the many anecdotes in his live shows – but still found time to write new songs, the first of which is ‘I Love You In The Morning’. Recorded remotely and mixed and mastered by Joel.

‘Shoe Song Blues’ has been a regular in Paul’s live shows for the last year, played solo as a walking blues with guitar and harmonica as a kind of homage to the likes of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, but when it came to recording he wanted to raise the stakes a little and make it more like the old time bands round one microphone – only ‘lockdown’ style - with the parts mostly played by Paul recorded into his 8-track at home with bass (Tristan) and mandolin (Danny) added later.

Both songs are available to preorder from Paul’s Bandcamp page now, and will be available in a ‘Pay what you will‘ capacity from 3rdJuly.

We’re starting to get back into the swing if things and today marks a fantastic release!

Pete Gow returns with two brand new songs, his first since January's 'The Fragile Line' album. Released as a double a- side, 'Cheap and Shapeless Dress' and 'Happy Hour At the Lobby Bar' reunite Gow with producer Joe Bennett and a sound both reminiscent of the orchestral, genre-defying Americana that took fans and critics by storm in 2019 .... with the AMA- UK Album of the year nominee 'Here There's No Sirens' .... but also points toward a new direction for Gow's third album, due early next year.

Clubhouse Records pulled 'Cheap and Shapeless Dress' and 'Happy Hour At The Lobby Bar' from the ongoing album sessions and put them out as this stand- alone release ... ... and what a release it is; available only as a 45rpm single, a limited pressing on heavyweight vinyl (.. including a complimentary download with each purchase), the tracks will not be made available on any other digital platform, or physical format.

'Happy Hour at the Lobby Bar' documents the meeting of two estranged friends, after decades apart. On the surface it's well intended, age and change bringing an uneasy rapprochement, but whatever unnamed events have shaped their separation and shared history, it will take more than the passage of time, or the cocktail menu at The Lobby Bar, to heal ... 'we moved the rug back to hide the drugs and found the dust we'd swept inside'. As in many of Gow's compositions, life and people are built upon layers ... layers to be peeled back and examine what hides beneath. A promotional video by Phil Perry and Danny Tipping accompanies each song. Shot on the last day of summer in the splendour of St. Michaels Church in Steventon, Oxfordshire... reuniting Gow with Bennett, Fin Kenny and Tristan Tipping, and putting the band back together for one last time in this craziest of years.
