Album Description The Cedars combine raucous Folk-Americana with dark, menacing blues and the occasional heart-stopping ballad to produce heady, intoxicating music. On April 8th their much-anticipated debut album, Little Copper Still will be released on Clubhouse Records. Recorded is California with Grammy award-winning producer Ian Brennan (Peter Case, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Tinariwen), Little Copper Still will appeal to all with a penchant for authentic ‘roots’ music played from the heart and delivered with oodles of soul. Lead singer Chantal Hill’s instantly captivating vocals tell tales of lost love, warning signs and drinking, driven along at breakneck speed by a band right on top of their game. The single ‘The Colour’ echo’s old Gillian Welch in design, Hill’s beautiful foreboding tones a sinful delight whereas ‘Phoenix’ is full of mainstream possibility – instantly catchy, totally loveable. This is a ‘roots’ band that has the looks, songs and appeal to make a break for the mainstream. And we certainly wouldn’t be betting against that. "A very very good album" "The album is certainly going to be worth waiting for" "An excellent album ««««" "A thoroughly juicy selection serves as a splendid introduction to a band currently at the forefront of the UK’s alt.country scene" |
