Clubhouse Newsletter #31

Posted 11 years ago by Katie

Hello,

Spring has sprung and we’ve only relatively recently realized we’ve just turned five! How did that happen?

We plan on marking the 5th Anniversary since our first release in a number of ways and first off we have produced a batch of limited edition T-shirts to welcome the good weather….

You can now pick up the ever-popular Clubhouse T in black and gold or alternatively it’s now also available in what we are calling “unbleached cotton and chocolate”. Order yours now while stocks last, only £7.99 a piece at The Clubhouse Shop

The great reviews for The Dreaming Spires new album keep rolling in and the band are keeping busy leading up to a summer of festival shows before a UK tour in October – in the meantime here is a great clip they filmed for The Crypt Sessions, a brilliant live version of “We Used To Have Parties”.

“Searching For The Supertruth” is available on CD, Digital Download and a special double LP package pressed on premium 180 gsm vinyl that includes a bonus side featuring the “Darkest Before The Dawn” EP and exclusive album download codes.

Again, the online shop is fully stocked, so don’t be a stranger.

You may have heard tracks from Cale Tyson’s new record, the appropriately titled “Introducing Cale Tyson”, being spun on Bob Harris Country for the past three weeks as we get ready for Cale’s first UK visit, the tour is attracting a lot of attention, with the Portsmouth and London dates already selling out.

But never fear, if you are based in our fair capital there is a second London date, the 22nd Aril at What’s Cookin’, Leytonstone, where he plays with Simon Stanley-Ward (free entry) and we’ve just announced an in-store performance at Rough Trade West on 25th April at 4pm.

They’ll be more plays on Bob Harris’s show as Cale’s got a full live session scheduled when he hits the UK.

All the dates are here: Cale Tyson Tour Dates

Next up for us is a series of in-store performances at our local music emporium, The Record Shop, Amersham for RSD 15 on Saturday 18th April – Paul McClure, Pete Gow from Case Hardin and a collaborative Bob Dylan project “Hard Rain” will be playing throughout the day – do join us.

It’s pleasing to be able to share that we’ve been asked back to take part in Suffolk’s Maverick Festival on 3rd July – the Clubhouse Rollin’ Revue will be taking over the Peacock Stage for the evening with a first rate line-up of acts and, thanks to our sponsors, Michter’s, a whiskey tasting throughout the night.

We’ve just released the full details on our website – so head on over and see what we’ve got planned: Maverick Festival details.

It’s going to be an amazing weekend, it’s one of our favourite festivals and we can’t wait!

We are also really happy to announce that “Tingestock”, the world’s only village hall based micro festival (probably) is on the horizon, the line-up looks incredible, more details to follow but if you are in striking distance of Buckingham keep 11th July free!

Finally, we are back in The Saloon at the mighty Truck Festival this year and we are planning a Birthday party to remember, it’s always a sell out so have a think about getting tickets shortly.

See you soon,

Clubhouse Records
